Jim Prentice, the former Alberta premier, was remembered Oct. 28 during a memorial service at Calgary’s Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium. An estimated 1,500 people, including business and political leaders from across Canada, took in the event. SAIT photojournalism majors Shaleen Ladha and Jeremy Ash were also in attendance and captured these moments.

This centenarian sure knows how to throw a party. On Sunday, Oct. 16, SAIT celebrated its first 100 years with a 700-pound birthday cake, the opening of a time capsule from 1966 and, to cap off the evening, a spectacular on-campus fireworks display. Second-year photojournalism majors were in attendance and filed a set of fun-filled pictures that capture the spirit of the day.
The SAIT Centennial, taking place on Oct. 16, is a time for residents and off-campus students alike to celebrate SAIT, and its 100 years of history. The community assistants of both campus residences have been hard at work, planning events for the students who live on-campus.
