Premier Rachel Notley gave her state of the province address at the Jack Singer in Calgary, and announced the extension of the tuition freeze.
The REDress project is returning to SAIT on November 26, 2016. The red dresses will be displayed across the campus to represent the missing and murdered aboriginal women and girls.
Jim Prentice, the former Alberta premier, was remembered Oct. 28 during a memorial service at Calgary’s Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium. An estimated 1,500 people, including business and political leaders from across Canada, took in the event. Thousands gathered holding lit lanterns in Calgary for the Light the Night walk to raise funds and awareness for blood cancer and their patients. The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada has been holding the annual event for the past eight years, and has 11 official walks across Canada.
