Kensington Pub welcomes everyone to join the family

Kensington Pub or “KP” as it’s known by regulars is a quaint family owned and operated English pub that has been a part of the community since 1982.

“Our staff have been around for a long time,” said Malcolm Parkinson, Owner and Manager of Kensington Pub, “ they’ve gotten to know some of the customers quite well over the years.”

Parkinson has owned the pub for nearly 20 years and said that he loves seeing his regular customers come in every day.

“It’s a community pub, that’s for sure,” he said during an interview over the phone, “customers have even been married here.”

First-time customer Wallace McKay admitted that customers at Kensington Pub were not necessarily his crowd, the service was acceptable.

“The servers are on top of their game,” McKay said.

McKay has lived in Calgary for two years and was encouraged to go to Kensington Pub by one of his friends.

“The food here is pretty good. I’ll probably come back again someday,” said McKay.

The public were also encouraged let loose at Kensington Pub’s Halloween party this October 31, where a best costume contest was held and all patrons were eligible to win $100 in prize money to be spent at the pub.
