SAIT Women’s Hockey Update

The SAIT Trojans Women’s Hockey team lost in an upsetting 4-3 overtime loss at home to the GMU Griffins on October 27.

Becca Glackin of SAIT netted two goals, while Sarah Williams scored one goal.

Ashley Holt, Shelby Pratt, Jenaya Townsend and Matana Skoye each scored one goal for MacEwan.

SAIT goaltender Chelsie Lowe faced 23 shots while making 19 saves and MacEwan goaltender Brenna McNulty faced 16 shots and 13 saves.

The Trojans shut the Griffins out 2-0 during their first meet of their back-to-back games but the Griffins turned the tables during their second meet.

The Trojan’s luck hasn’t changed as they played back-to-back games against the RDC Queens on November 1 and 2, losing both games with an identical score of 4-1.

Bret Seaton and Reanne Gouw of SAIT both netted lone goals in their respective games.

One of the possible reasons for their string of recent losses is due to the fact of playing back-to-back games, which creates more pressure and fatigue.

The Women’s Trojan team is currently 2-3-0-1 in the season.

The Women’s Trojan team will play back-to-back games against the NAIT Ooks on November 23 and 24.
