GetQ’d and never wait in line

New local app GetQ’d promises that you will never have to wait in line again.

The latest buzz in the Calgary and Edmonton app world puts you and your friends in line at the hottest venues without ever having to actually line up.

The app launched on Nov. 15th for the Apple app store and for Google play.

Founders of the free app Lucas McCarthy and Andy Dion said they developed the app in the interest of not only customers, but businesses as well.

“From my experience in both working and engaging in the hospitality industry, the most common complaints are usually about wait times,” said McCarthy.

“GetQ’d is really interesting because it delivers something great, not just for owners of clubs and restaurants, but for the patrons of those establishments and the surrounding businesses those patrons visit,”McCarthy said.

Before the app hit the market, the GetQ’d team processed more than 13,000 people for the app’s trial.

The resulting feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.

“The venues, customers, the party-goers, the students, and the regular joes love it,” said McCarthy.

“They get treated like they should. Once you don’t have to stand in line, you never want to again,” he said.

McCarthy and Dion plan to launch the app in Toronto, Vancouver and “a couple college towns across Canada” in 2013.

The pair would like to bring the app to the U.S. as well.
