Picturing SAIT at 100

This centenarian sure knows how to throw a party. On Sunday, Oct. 16, SAIT celebrated its first 100 years with a 700-pound birthday cake, the opening of a time capsule from 1966 and, to cap off the evening, a spectacular on-campus fireworks display. Jocelyn Wynnyk: a Trojans double threat on ice and field

Jocelyn Wynnyk applied her diverse athletic abilities to a pair of Trojans teams while attending SAIT. In doing so, she excelled both as a goaltender for the women’s hockey team and a striker for the women’s soccer team. The journalism photo majors captured the dynamic player in action, both on and off the grass and ice, during the 2015-16 season for each of Wynnyk’s sports. [ READ MORE ]


Dinos capture cast iron cover as fans break attendance record

SAIT’s second-year photojournalists descended upon the Scotiabank Saddledome to capture the excitement of the 2016 Crowchild Classic. The University of Calgary and Mount Royal University men’s and women’s hockey teams competed for the coveted titles on Jan. 21, 2016. From the record-breaking crowds in the stands to the fierce battles on the ice, the photographers had no problem pulling out some fantastic images. [ READ MORE ]

After a long 24-game regular season, both the men’s and women’s teams headed into playoffs looking for success. Though the season has been filled with its ups and downs, the SAIT Trojans never failed to put on a good show. In the 12-year cycle of the Chinese zodiac, 2016 is the year of the monkey. But it was dragons and lions that headlined the Chinese Cultural Centre’s annual festival to celebrate the new lunar year.
