{"id":37872,"date":"2017-10-14T16:09:20","date_gmt":"2017-10-14T22:09:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/saitjournalism.ca\/?p=37872"},"modified":"2017-10-14T16:09:20","modified_gmt":"2017-10-14T22:09:20","slug":"zombies-walk-the-streets-again","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/saitjournalism.ca\/thepress\/2017\/10\/14\/zombies-walk-the-streets-again\/","title":{"rendered":"Zombies walk the streets again"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"wpsdc-drop-cap\">C<\/span>algary\u2019s Annual Zombie walk returned Oct. 14 at the Olympic Plaza downtown.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"wpsdc-drop-cap\">C<\/span>hris Bowell, organizer of the event, said prior to the event that he was expecting more than 600 people this year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are hoping to get to the numbers we had previous years,\u201d Bowell said.<\/p>\n<p>This year the zombie walk will have different vendors such as makeup artists and art enthusiasts exposing their work.<\/p>\n<p>To become a living dead, Bowell suggests participants find their clothes from thrift stores, such as Value Village, or use old garments.<\/p>\n<p>When it comes to zombie makeup, for first-timers Bowell recommends getting it done at the\u00a0event.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have makeup artists down there,\u201d Bowell said.<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019s Hobby Shop, a costume shop with all kinds of outfits and makeup, and also the main sponsor of the event, will be on hand for all those who come unprepared.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We have all kinds of special effects and zombie kits,&#8221;
