{"id":38056,"date":"2017-10-14T13:17:23","date_gmt":"2017-10-14T19:17:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/saitjournalism.ca\/?p=38056"},"modified":"2017-10-14T13:17:23","modified_gmt":"2017-10-14T19:17:23","slug":"east-side-art-crawl-attracts-large-crowds-to-ramsay-studios","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/saitjournalism.ca\/thepress\/2017\/10\/14\/east-side-art-crawl-attracts-large-crowds-to-ramsay-studios\/","title":{"rendered":"East Side Art Crawl attracts large crowds to Ramsay studios"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[dropcap]F[\/dropcap]our art studios opened their doors to the public on Sept. 16, to show what they can do and sell some of their work.<\/p>\n<p>The East Side Studio Crawl was a way to inspire the public and show what local artists are creating.<\/p>\n<p>The studios involved were <a href=\"https:\/\/burnsvisualarts.com\">Burns Visual Art Society<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.artpoint.ca\">Artpoint<\/a> Gallery and Studios, <a href=\"http:\/\/jeffdeboer.com\">Jeff de Boer Studio<\/a> and Studio 4 Visual Arts.<\/p>\n<p>The East Side Art Crawl has been running for 14 years.<\/p>\n<p>The artists loved the interest shown by the public in their work.<\/p>\n<p>Jeff de Boer is a Calgary artist who studied at the Alberta College of Art and Design (ACAD).<\/p>\n<p>De Boer has created a number of high profile artworks in the city, including an installation in the new International terminal at the Calgary airport.<\/p>\n<p>He also designed the Cross Iron Mills Steel Cowboys.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy work isn\u2019t always about me. Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017 (Photo by Aman Kapila\/The Press)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Artpoint hosts 54 artists in their studio who do many different forms of art.<\/p>\n<p>Charlene Turner-Kroeger&#8217;s studio is in the Artpoint building. Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017 (Photo by Aman Kapila\/The Press)Studio 4 painters had an entire studio lined up of beautiful paintings.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>All the paintings at the Studio 4 complex were for sale.<\/p>\n<p>Ettore Iannacito, an artist from Ontario, loves the public engagement in Calgary.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t recall anything like this in Toronto,\u201d said Iannacito.<\/p>\n<p>He paints with acrylics and has always had an interest in art.<\/p>\n<p>His paintings are from 2014 to 2017.<\/p>\n<p>Iannacito has noticed a lot of interest in his paintings and support.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_38170\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-38170\" style=\"width: 962px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-38170\" src=\"http:\/\/saitjournalism.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/20170916-S1-East-Side-Art-Crawl-AK-00001.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"962\" height=\"641\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-38170\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Ettore Iannacito in front of his latest painting.
