This diner idea sort of brought the comics and the show to life,” said Riverdale fan Jennifer Walsh.

Walsh was one of the later customers in line but said she was impressed with how this event was run.

“Being such a fan of the comics and now the show, I was hoping this event tonight would impress me, and it definitely did. It brings back such nostalgia.”

Despite cold weather, Boogie’s Burgers remained lined up down the street until it closed its doors at 11 p.m.

Another fan of the show and the original comics, Bethany Lake, stood in line for an hour and a half just to get herself a Betty Vanilla milkshake.

“My mom got me into the comic books when I was younger, probably 11 or 12. I think it’d be a cool idea for more shows to do something like this. It’d probably make more people excited about their show.”

Last year Riverdale had an overwhelming response from the community, with an 88 per cent score on Rotten Tomatoes.
