(Photo by Vaani Mongia\/The Press)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span class=\"wpsdc-drop-cap\">M<\/span>embers and volunteers of Dashmesh Culture Centre are doing their best to help people by providing them meals, funds and clothes during the COVID-19 crisis.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"wpsdc-drop-cap\">M<\/span>ore than 100 people from the local area are running a No Hungry Tummy tent, where individuals can drive or walk by and get food for takeout.<\/p>\n<p>The tent is running every day and all public health measures are being taken very seriously.<\/p>\n<p>Simran Kwatara, a member of <a href=\"https:\/\/dashmesh.ca\/\">Dashmesh Culture Centre<\/a>, explains that they have many people working at the centre and that all were willing to help people that are in need.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe found that the first need to be focused was on the truck drivers that needed food, and with the help of our<br \/>\nmembers we started through our hot food service, delivery and take out,\u201d says Kwatara.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe also developed a food bank system and it has been successful,\u201d says Kwatara.<\/p>\n<p>According to Kwatara, anyone who would like to get a hot meal from them can freely go grab some and even take for as many people that they would like.<\/p>\n<p>Sukhbir Singh Sidhu, another member of Dashmesh Culture Centre, appreciates the volunteers who are investing their best efforts and teaching everybody about public health measures that will keep everyone safe.<\/p>\n<p>International students are among the biggest group seeking help as they face numerous challenges in this pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Gurdwaras have always been helpful to the international students, helping everyone with its selfless service of providing food,&#8221; says Sidhu.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEven now, gurdwaras are helping the needy by distributing food and groceries,\u201d says Sidhu.<\/p>\n<p>The management team is packing boxes with free food such as pasta and rice, depending on the taste preferences of different communities.
