Many might see this unique combination of interests as contrasting each other, but for her, they fit perfectly.<\/p>\n<p>Growing up in Saskatchewan, her love for both activities grew. In her adult life, she discovered she could pursue both passions at a high level.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For the past two summers, Douglas has played infield, shortstop and third base for the Saskatoon Selects.<\/p>\n<p>Douglas sat down with <em>The Press<\/em> to answer some questions about her school and athletic career.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What school do you go to?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Alberta University of the Arts.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What program are you taking at AU Arts?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Graphic design and advertising.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What made you get into graphic design and advertising?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I like making art, but I also wanted to make money. So I thought that was the best of two worlds.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What career are you looking to get into?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A graphic designer, maybe an art director at a company.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What sports do you play?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Currently just fastball.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How did you start playing fastball?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I played T-ball at my small-town school, because my mom played softball and wanted me to continue.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How did you start playing at SAIT even though you go to AU Arts?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Basically, I found out that any student from AU Arts could be a Trojan because they are affiliated. So I just emailed the coach and that was it.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How do you balance school, sports, and life?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Just trying to get as much school done as possible at school. If there is an option to leave class early, I usually won\u2019t \u2014 just to get stuff done so that when I\u2019m home, I can actually have fun, and I\u2019m not stressed about things to be doing.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How do you handle the stress of it?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Cry.
