Bankers Hall in Calgary has been hosting a Strong and Free Mural for citizens to pose in front of like a superhero as part of the Canada 150 celebration.
The mural is to honour Canada 150 with a superhero cape design.
Anyone can come and pose, to de-stress, increase confidence and find a little humour in their day.
The mural will be up until December, for those who wish to give it a try.
Natalia Ruiz, a psychology student at the University of Calgary, gave the mural a try.
“It’s kind of silly to pose like a superhero, but I can get how it can relieve a little stress in your day. It distracts you from some stress and makes a little fun which is much needed.”
Posing in front of the mural for at least two minutes can increase self-confidence and reduce stress caused by busy schedules or job interviews, research has found.
Participating in this event and using the hashtag #myCanada to share your photos on social media will enter you into a draw for a chance to win a Canada 150 prize, which is a gift basket of Canada 150 items.
Many photos of the event can be found online through Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. The same hashtag has been used to share photos of different locations in Canada.
The event is to improve participation with Bankers Hall and to have people become more aware of Canada.
Gerone Gonzales, a former biochemistry student of the University of Calgary who also posed before the mural, stated, “It was fun to pose for a bit and a good thing to do with friends.”
The mural is located in Bankers Hall on the second floor near the Starbucks. Once photos of yourself or of friends have been taken, you can share them online using the hashtag #myCanada.
Bankers Hall is on Stephen Avenue S.W., between 2nd and 3rd Streets.
