Filled with hundreds of unique trinkets and mirrored ornaments, Cold Garden Beverage Company’s brewery in Inglewood is a pet-friendly place where your eyes will sparkle as soon as you step in.

Ornaments dangle along the ceiling, filling the room with dancing reflections as though they are celebrating a love of craft beer and a good time.

Cold Garden is not your typical brewery. Not only will the beer steal your heart, but the chaotic maximalism of the aesthetic approach and the dynamic energy create the feeling that you are in the comfort of a buddy’s place.

“My favourite thing about this place is that it allows people to be people and have fun,” said Angella Lamarche, manager of Cold Garden Beverage Company.

Starting in 2017, Cold Garden has created various craft beers to satisfy beer lovers’ taste buds.

The brewery, located next to the taproom, offers customers a glimpse into the beer-making process and allows them to know exactly where their beer is coming from.

“Different malts have their unique flavour compounds, so depending on what we use at the time, it’s going to bring out different flavours in the final products,” said Lamarche.

For brewing, they steam the malts in boiling water to create a sugary liquid called wort.

Then yeast is added, which consumes the sugar of the wort. This generates alcohol, carbonation, and other compounds that give each beer its unique flavour.

“We have some incredible people with beautiful, creative minds that work here, and they come up with many of those ideas,” says Lamarche. “We also take customers’ suggestions to expand the spectrum.”

Everyone’s opinion matters in the taproom. They all work together to create the best products and ideas.

With a capacity of 150 and a bustling atmosphere, the dog-friendly patio is often haven for pet-loving customers.

“My dog Ruby loves it here,” said Feddema, a regular of Cold Garden. “At this point, it’s a dog park for him.”

Welcoming furry friends to enjoy the brewery with their owners sets Cold Garden apart and stands as the go-to for beer enthusiasts and pet lovers.

“We are not going to slow down anytime soon,” said Lamarche. “There’s always something out there waiting for us to explore. We will keep going and keep trying things out and working with different people.”
