Here lies the cross for one Lieutenant in the 43rd Battalion John Norris Eaton, 21, in Calgary on Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2020.

He immigrated to Canada with his parents and siblings Frank Jr., George, and Royal.
He had some military experience as a member of the 103rd Regiment (Calgary Rifles). He was deployed to France on November 1st, 1916. In France, Eaton was taken on strength by the 43rd Battalion CEF. He notably saw action at Passchendaele in the fall of 1917. On April 5, 1917 in Vimy Ridge, he was shot in the head by a German sniper while covering a raiding party.
